This was a classic multi-faceted workplace relocation with over 70 Jacob&#8217;s staff to be unplugged, relocated and reconnected with little or no down time to the business.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<section>\n<div class=\"section-inner l-sidebar\">\n<div class=\"gb-element-eebb5b16\">\n<h2 class=\"gb-text\">Who is Jacobs?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text\">Jacobs is one of the world&#8217;s largest and most diverse providers of technical, professional consulting and construction services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text\">With annual revenues of over $13 billion USD they serve a broad range of companies and organisations, including industrial, commercial, and government clients across multiple markets and geographies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"gb-element-7d19e195\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"sidebar-image\" alt=\"Jacobs logo 200 x 200\" src=\"https:\/\/www.crownrelo.co.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Jacobs-logo-200-x-200.jpg\"\/>\n<\/aside>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<section>\n<div class=\"section-inner\">\n<h2 class=\"gb-text\">What was involved?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text\">The job required Crown to provide a turnkey solution for the relocation of 70 Jacobs&#8217;s staff over a single weekend. It was multi-faceted and involved everything from the supply of labels and packing crates for each staff member to a full disconnect, pack, transport and reconnect of computers and IT equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text\">A big part of exiting the Jacobs site was to manage the disposal of general waste and to redeploy surplus furniture and equipment to community groups who will give them &#8216;new life&#8217;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<section>\n<div class=\"section-inner\">\n<h2 class=\"gb-text\">Who were the key people?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text\">Jacobs National Facilities Manager Claire Marlow headed up the project. In tandem with our Wellington Workspace Manager Dave Jones. They were joined on site during the physical move by Australian based Jacob&#8217;s executive Monique Holmes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<section>\n<div class=\"section-inner l-sidebar\">\n<div class=\"gb-element-73a30e0f\">\n<h2 class=\"gb-text\">Planning the project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text\">In the lead up to the job Claire and Dave were in regular contact to discuss and plan the labelling protocols, order of movement, IT requirements, access, parking, building protection and move timings. Dave also needed to coordinate 3rd parties and arrange access for charities, the de installation contractor (for breaking down workstations) and ensuring that everyone had a clear understanding of the Health and Safety protocols.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"gb-element-e6e879c\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"sidebar-image\" alt=\"map2 static 400 x 400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.crownrelo.co.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/map2-static-400-x-400.jpg\"\/>\n<\/aside>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<section>\n<div class=\"section-inner\">\n<h2 class=\"gb-text\">Delivering on the project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text\">The project was completed over a weekend, the priority being having little or no down time for Jacobs&#8217;s staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text\"><strong>Day One \u2013 Friday Afternoon (work day)<\/strong><br>It all started on the Friday afternoon with the Crown team arriving to disconnect and unpack the IT, by early evening they had moved and placed all computer into the new building. In a separate operation the company&#8217;s servers were decommissioned and moved on Friday night. A plant wall was also set up at the new offices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text\"><strong>Days Two &amp; Three \u2013 Saturday, Sunday<\/strong><br>The Crown team was on site by 7:00 am to commence the main relocation of packed crates and reconnect the p.c&#8217;s at the new site. The main relocation was completed by mid-afternoon on Saturday allowing the rest of the weekend to be spent on the &#8216;exit&#8217; project<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text\"><strong>Day Three \u2014 Monday<\/strong><br>The exit was completed on Monday morning with two Crown staff being supplied at the new site for &#8216;go live&#8217; as Jacob&#8217;s staff arrived to start their work day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<section>\n<div class=\"section-inner\">\n<h2 class=\"gb-text\">The wrap up<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text\">The highlight of this relocation was the Exit Project being completed a day and a half ahead of schedule. All in all everything went very smoothly with no misplaced crates, no IT issues due to faulty hook ups or connectivity issues. Most importantly there was no damage to either the old or new sites. Planning was the key as there were a number of contractors on both sites, doing everything from making good on the old premises to collecting furniture for re use and recycling by charity organisations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<section>\n<div class=\"section-inner\">\n<div class=\"quote\">\n<p class=\"gb-text\"><em>Dear Darryl<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gb-text\">We wanted to thank you and the Crown team for all your hard work relocating us to our new office in Wellington last weekend.
