University of Otago: Pathway & English Language Centre

Situated in The University of Otago (UoO) precinct next to Forsyth Barr Stadium, the Pathway and Language Centre (PELC, Te Huarahi, Tepuna o te Kī) offers university entrance pathways and English language programmes for students of all backgrounds in a supportive, caring safe environment where student can reach their full potential.

Spread over 4 floor and including offices of academic staff, breakout areas, classrooms and library, the PELC were required to relocate to the newly refurbished Otago Business School.

Planning and Execution

Crown’s involvement began with a thorough RFP process, followed by site meetings with UoO Project Managers and Senior PELC staff.

The objectives were to establish a relocation programme, packing requirements, supply and delivery of materials for approximately 70 teaching and administration staff, 240 student desks and chairs, and a fully equipped library.

Crown Workspace crews from Dunedin and Christchurch led by Josh Franke and Darryl White were onsite in April to move all departments over the course of 4 days.

Crown Workspace were also required to relocate and reconnect all IT equipment.
