Library Shelving

The Project Brief

Client Requirements:
The Rangiora Library renovations required all collections to be packed and staged in two areas onsite to enable the replacement of existing shelving, carpet cleaning, and redevelopment of the service area.

Crown Workspace was engaged to clear approximately 440 bays of collection items (2,200 shelves). The Crown team accomplished this task in 2.5 days, packing 2,000 cartons and 40 library cages with assistance from members of the library team.

Following the renovation works, the Crown team returned to unpack and restock the shelves, completing this task in 4 days, well ahead of the original schedule.

Getting Underway

Crown provided a comprehensive quotation/estimate for the logistics, staging, and labelling protocols to ensure all collections remained in sequence. The project team prepared detailed health and safety documents, traffic management planning, and building protection.

"Thanks for this – much appreciated. My team wanted to pass on their thanks. Your team were fantastic to deal with."

Luke Sole – District Libraries Manager Waimakariri Libraries

Delivering on Time & Under Budget

The project required reconfiguring the layout of the shelving and collections. Crown’s labelling protocols ensured all collections were reinstated correctly in sequence according to the new layout.

The Crown project team acknowledges the library staff who worked alongside them, providing assistance with packing and making up boxes.
