Crown’s quote process starts with a free consultation to understand your specific needs, access conditions, and moving dates. After requesting a quote, one of our trained Crown consultants will survey your home in-person or by video call, and assemble a list of items that are going.
Your quote depends on two things: how much space your goods will take up, and what their final destination is. A door-to-door move finishes inside your new home, while a door-to-store move finishes at our Whangārei warehouse.

Which areas suit families, and how do school zones work?
For families coming from overseas who want easy access to schools, shopping centres and sporting facilities, Maunu, Kamo, Kensington, Tikipunga and Onerahi are popular choices. Maunu suits those wanting a quieter, more spacious environment while still being reasonably close to the city.
If you’re looking at Whangārei Heads, Parua Bay or Tūtūkākā, find out which school zone the property lies in. Whangārei housing is a mix of older homes, renovated homes and newer developments. Rental properties can be hard to get, as there is typically a lot of competition. Do we need a car in Whangārei?
A car is very useful, particularly if you live outside the central city or in a rural or coastal area. The CityLink bus network connects the city centre with some suburbs, along with dedicated school services. Regional services run to places such as Ruakākā, but less frequently.

The Ministry for Primary Industries inspects incoming household goods for anything that could carry pests, seeds or disease into New Zealand. The usual culprits are garden tools, outdoor furniture, camping and tramping gear, bikes, fishing and diving gear, boats and kayaks, golf clubs, sports equipment, footwear with soil on it, wooden items, vacuum cleaners and anything made from natural plant or animal material. Clean everything thoroughly before packing and declare it on your inventory. Items that arrive dirty can be cleaned or treated at your cost, or destroyed, and either outcome delays your delivery.
