We collaborate with our supply chain to identify and mitigate sustainability risks and opportunities.
We actively engage with our local community to create positive social and environmental outcomes.
We empower our employees to give back to our communities through volunteering.
Fostering meaningful connections with communities, engaging in volunteer programs, and supporting charities are important to Crown’s commitment to generate a positive and lasting impact that extends beyond business operations. Contributing to the well-being of local communities creates a sense of shared purpose, aligning the company’s objectives with the broader goals of societal advancement. These connections enrich our social fabric and contribute to improved relationships between the communities we serve.
We are proud to support the work that Ronald McDonald House does by sponsoring a family room at Domain House in Grafton. This provides accommodation for families that have sick children in the hospital for extended periods of time.
Domain House is a special place that offers the comforts of home with a community feel. Our sponsorship pays for the upkeep of one of the rooms to ensure that the room is always clean, freshly painted and furnished so that the families who stay there have a safe and comfortable place to call home for as long as they need it.
In one year alone, through our sponsorship, we were able to provide 63 families from across New Zealand with free accommodation for a total of 193 nights. But, that’s not all we do for Ronald McDonald House.
Our staff at Crown Relocations are proud to support the many fund-raising activities by the Breast Cancer Foundation that raises funds to support scientific research into cancer treatments.
One such event is the Pink Ribbon Walk which sees our staff from our Auckland and Christchurch offices join in an annual 10km walk and fundraising event to collect donations for the charity.
At Crown Relocations, we’re proud of the work that we do with our chosen charities and we’re sure that you will be happy to know how our efforts help to give back to the community we live and work in.
Through the House-to-House Challenge in 2023, we were able to raise $196,670.15 from a total of 840 fundraisers. This will allow RMHC to provide 936 nights of accommodation for families of sick children. This also includes home-cooked meals and other essential items.
In 2022, staff from Crown in Auckland took part in a ‘Cook Night’ at Ronald McDonald House in Grafton. This amazing staff of seven managed to prepare and cook nine different dishes including three desserts. This kept 100 patients and their families well-fed on the night.
The family dinner programme at RMHC is a regular event and many of our staff members are keen to assist in preparing and serving meals whenever they can.
Our community partnership with the NZ Salvation Army began way back in 2012. Since that time, we’ve formed a highly productive partnership with the charity including our relocation Priority Box where we encourage our customers to donate tins of food and other goods.
This allows us to donate around 2,000 cartons of essential food and other items to the Sallies food banks and family stores every year.
Other programmes that we’ve developed to help the Sallies include:
All of this has resulted in the Sallies presenting Crown NZ with their ‘Valued Partner’ award.
Our loyal customers already know that we have a strong sustainability culture within our company. Over the past few years, we worked together with FreeForAll to rescue products from landfill that could still be put to good use.
This has allowed the charity to make donations of essential goods such as clothing, furniture and toys to people who struggle to be able to purchase these items for their families.
Items that we’ve donated to FreeForAll include:
All of these items have come from our relocation customers who were moving house and no longer needed these goods. Rather than taking these items to the tip, Crown Relocations has taken them off their hands so that they can be given to people who need them the most.
Through the work that we do with FreeForAll, we’re able to help many people in need to get the items that they simply can’t afford to buy. Plus, we’re helping the planet by reducing the amount of products that end up in landfill. It’s truly a win-win for everyone concerned.
“Mōrena Darryl. Again, thanks very much for the donation of goods for families in need of which we received yesterday. Please pass on my thanks to Paul for getting the goods to us. Already one of our nurses has put together a bedding package for a young mother who is sleeping in a garage. With winter coming on I know this will be very much appreciated.
Thanks again and look forward to catching up again soon. Ngā Mihi.”

“Belated, the trustees from the Life Education Trust North Shore would like to thank Crown Relocations for storing our mobile classroom on their property during the summer break. Having North Shore companies like Crown Relocations to support the work of Life Education is essential in the ongoing success of our charity, educating and empowering children to make healthy choices so they can live full and healthy lives.
A BIG THANK YOU on behalf of 14,000 children taught in 2019.”
~ Annemarie Hogenbirk, Secretary Life Education Trust North Shore
“Thank you so much for all that you and the Crown team did on Wednesday night. A mammoth task! Just as well we packed so many more ‘Giving Back’ boxes this year as they are almost all spoken for already. I’m so grateful to Crown for helping us to help those in need in our community.
Have a wonderful Christmas!”
